WOW series by EKO GUITARS Overview
An uncompromising series based on a selection of woods from all over the world. WOW, an acronym for Wood Of the World Series, but also the exclamation of those who see these guitars for the first time, represents the top of the range in the EKO catalog. Every single guitar is unique and each wooden part is selected from a wide range of fine materials such as Cocobolo, Ovangkol, Koa, Ebony and others. The entire WOW series is All Solid, therefore, with solid top, sides and back, the nature of the wood is enhanced in favor of a particularly specific timbre.
The master luthier, Roberto Fontanot, carefully selects the woods of each instrument to create masterpieces that will be the joy of every single musician. The variety of woods used as sides and back of each individual guitar will give the six strings completely different characteristics in terms of sound.
The choice of the Top fell on the Italian Spruce chosen among the most figured of the highest grade of quality, coming from a region of the Alps known for the supply of woods used in the production of the best violins in the world, only a few producers can access these private reserves.

The combination of Solid Spruce on the top and Solid Koa on the sides and back, the result of careful research, gives this instrument a very wide and always well-balanced timbre spectrum on every single string.
A decidedly important feature is the presence of a very high-performance amplification system, the Fishman Flex Blend: consisting of a piezo and an internal condenser microphone, this system allows you to grasp every nuance of the guitar thanks to the possibility of gradually adding the signal taken up by the microphone to the piezo signal, through a “blend” potentiometer. Among the controls, in addition to the Output Volume and the blend, there is a display tuner (which can be activated by pressing the volume potentiometer) and an EQ control that works in “mid-scooped” mode: kept to a minimum the signal is not equalized (flat), increasing gradually reduces the mid frequencies in favor of low and high, Very convenient to get a sound already “ready” for the mix. In the event that the guitar should have feedback problems, a very common situation in the acoustic field, it is possible to reverse the phase by pressing the EQ potentiometer. The combination of all these features make the Wow A800e SK a suitable instrument in professional contexts, both in the recording studio and on stage.
